Skinoren ( Azelaic acid ) This medicine is a topical antibacterial agent used to treat acne.

FOR WOMEN: IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor to discuss the risks to your baby.


This Medicine should not be used in women who are pregnant or Breast-Feeding and cannot be ordered FOR YOUR SAFETY.

Before Using This Medicine: INFORM YOUR DOCTOR of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding.

How to Use This Medicine: Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor.

BEFORE USING THIS MEDICINE, wash the affected area with warm water and soap, rinse, and pat dry. Cover the affected area with a thin film of medicine. Allow the medicine to dry. Wash your hands immediately after using this medicine.

DO NOT COVER THE AFFECTED AREA with gauze or a bandage unless your doctor tells you to do so.

STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature, away from heat and light. TO CLEAR UP THE ACNE COMPLETELY, continue using this medicine for the full course of treatment. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule.

Cautions: IT MAY TAKE SEVERAL WEEKS for this medicine to work. If your symptoms do not improve within 4 weeks or if they become worse, check with your doctor. Do not use any other medicines or special cleansers on your skin unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. Avoid getting this medicine in your eyes or on the inside of your nose or mouth.

Possible Side Effects: SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment, include redness, dryness, itching, burning, stinging, or tingling at application site. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor.

CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience rash or change in skin color. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor.

Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

Additional Information: DO NOT SHARE THIS MEDICINE with others for whom it was not prescribed. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE for other health conditions. KEEP THIS MEDICINE out of the reach of children and pets. IF USING THIS MEDICINE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, obtain it before your supply runs out.
